چکیده

Chirality and chiral molecules are key elements in modern chemical biochemical industries. Individual addressing the eventual separation of enantiomers have been still important elusive tasks molecular physics chemistry, a variety methods introduced over years to achieve these goals. Here, we theoretically demonstrate that pair cross-polarized THz pulses interacting with through their permanent dipole moments induces an enantioselective orientation. This orientation persists for long time, exceeding duration by several orders magnitude, its dependency on temperature pulses' parameters is investigated. persistent may enhance deflection inhomogeneous electromagnetic fields, potentially leading viable techniques.Received 16 December 2020Accepted 24 February 2021DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevResearch.3.013249Published American Physical Society under terms Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. The twisted arc model for chiral molecules

We present a simple model for chiral molecules which yields the frequency-dependent multipole-multipole polarizabilities required for calculating the dispersive van der Waals constants in a simple, closed, and consistent form. The model consists of a single effective charge confined to a one-dimensional wire formed by two circular arcs, which are twisted with respect to each other by an angle c...

Imaging with Terahertz Pulses

Recently, a real-time imaging system based on terahertz (THz) time-domain spectroscopy has been developed. This technique offers a range of unique imaging modalities due to the broad bandwidth, sub-picosecond duration, and phasesensitive detection of the THz pulses. This paper provides a brief introduction of the state-of-the art in THz imaging. It also focuses on expanding the potential of thi...

Enantioselective Release Behavior of Ketoprofen Enantiomers from Alginate-metal Complexes, Monitored by Chiral HPLC

Alginate-metal complexes were prepared with divalent (Ca, Ba, Zn) and trivalent metals (Fe, Al) via congealing method in form of beads. Alginate mixed metals (Ca & Fe) complexes were also prepared by simultaneous and consecutive congealing. The studied beads were blank beads and racemic ketoprofen (KTP) loaded beads. Metal content was determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy and was 1.8% to...

Nonresonant ionization of oxygen molecules by femtosecond pulses: plasma dynamics studied by time-resolved terahertz spectroscopy.

We show that optical pump-terahertz probe spectroscopy is a direct experimental tool for exploring laser-induced ionization and plasma formation in gases. Plasma was produced in gaseous oxygen by focused amplified femtosecond pulses. The ionization mechanisms at 400- and 800-nm excitation wavelengths differ significantly being primarily of a multiphoton character in the former case and a strong...

Interferometric Imaging With Terahertz Pulses

We demonstrate a new reflection imaging technique using single-cycle pulses, in which the sample to be imaged is placed at the focus of a lens in one arm of a Michelson interferometer. The detected signal is the superposition of the pulses from the two arms of the interferometer, one with a sample and one with a reference mirror. Because of the Gouy phase shift from the lens in the sample arm, ...
